A "Milk Paint" Finish using Gesso

By applying gesso directly over raw wood and sanding the gesso to expose the wood grain.

Step 1: Apply gesso directly over the raw wood. Allow to dry and sand using #220 sandpaper to expose the wood grain, create a "worn" look from use and a distressed look on outside corners.

Step 2: Apply Apply lacquer sanding sealer. Spatter with a very thin solution of burnt umber UTC and paint thinner to creat very soft and subtle water spotting.. Apply more sealer. Use a dry brush and burnt umber UTC to darken or "burn" edges. Apply "matt" finish lacquer.
